Not every headshot is a company project. Sometimes it is one person who needs a photo for a new role, a speaker bio, a book jacket or a website. Sometimes it is a three-person partnership that has never had matching photos. These sessions get the same lighting and attention Rob Wilson brings to large corporate days, scaled to a smaller group.

Rob has been a headshot photographer in New Jersey since 1993. Professional headshots in NJ are his core work, and the difference between a good one and a forgettable one usually comes down to two things: lighting that flatters your face, and coaching that gets you past the stiff first few frames.

What you can expect

  • Gray, white, black or color backdrops
  • Posture and expression coaching throughout

  • Final images you can use anywhere

Examples from recent sessions

Studio or your location

You choose where the session happens. The Freehold studio offers a quiet, private space with full studio lighting. If you would rather stay put, Rob can bring the studio to your office or home office and set up in about 20 minutes.

Small groups often pick the location option because it keeps everyone in one place and makes it easy to add a group photo at the end.

How the coaching works

Most people say they are not photogenic. In practice, they are just uncomfortable being photographed. Rob talks you through small adjustments as you go: chin position, shoulder angle, where to put your weight and how to soften your expression. You see images on the back of the camera during the session, so you know what is working before you leave.

Headshots for LinkedIn, websites and speaker bios

Different uses call for different crops and looks. A LinkedIn photo is viewed as a small circle, so it needs a tighter crop and a clear expression. A website bio may need a vertical frame that matches colleagues. A speaker bio or press kit benefits from a more editorial look with an environmental background. Tell us where the images are going and we will plan a few variations. If LinkedIn is the main goal, see our page on LinkedIn headshots. Request a quote and tell us what the photos are for.

Retouching and delivery

After the session you review your images and choose the ones you want finished. Retouching is included: blemishes, stray hairs and under-eye shadows are softened, and teeth are brightened, while keeping you looking like yourself. The final files are yours to use anywhere, from your profile to a printed program. We confirm the delivery date when you book, so tell us about any deadline up front.

When a small group grows into a full department, we can switch to an on-site team headshot day using the same look.

The process

How an on-site session works

01

Plan

We agree on the date, the room, the backdrop and the look, and you share a short preparation guide with your team.

02

Schedule

You set the order of the day around meetings and departments, and we work to it so nobody loses an afternoon.

03

Photograph

Rob sets up a full studio in a conference room in about 20 minutes and coaches every person through it.

04

Deliver

The selected portraits are retouched, and you receive a consistent set ready for your website, LinkedIn and directory.
