A law firm website is mostly people. Prospective clients click through the attorney bios before they ever pick up the phone, and they notice when one partner is lit like a magazine cover and the associate next to her looks like a cropped wedding photo. Law firm headshots that match tell a reader the firm runs a tight operation.

Rob Wilson has photographed attorneys and business professionals in New Jersey since 1993. He brings a complete lighting setup and backdrop to your office, turns a conference room into a studio in about 20 minutes, and photographs your lawyers one at a time without pulling anyone away from billable work for long.

Whether you are a two-partner practice in a county seat or a multi-office firm refreshing every bio at once, the goal is the same: attorney headshots that look approachable, credible and like they all came from the same firm.

What you can expect

  • Full studio lighting set up in your conference room in about 20 minutes
  • Matching backdrop and framing across every attorney bio
  • Ability to match your firm’s existing headshot style for new hires

  • Final images the firm can use on its site, LinkedIn and directories

Why attorney headshots need to match

Bio pages are usually laid out in a grid, so inconsistency shows immediately. Different backgrounds, crops, head sizes and lighting make a firm look like it was assembled from spare parts. We set one standard for your firm (backdrop color, framing, lighting direction and wardrobe guidance) and hold it for every person.

If your firm already has a look you like, we can match it. Send a few existing bio photos and Rob will set the backdrop and lighting so new associates and lateral hires drop into the grid without anyone noticing which photos are new.

Scheduling around a legal calendar

Attorneys are hard to pin down. Court appearances move, closings slide and depositions run long. That is why on-site sessions work well for firms: the setup stays in place for the day and people come in when their calendar opens up. Each lawyer spends only a short time in front of the camera.

Your office manager or firm administrator builds a simple sign-up list, and we flex around the people who get called away. For a step-by-step look at how a session day runs, see how a company headshot day works.

Partner portraits and firm marketing

Bio headshots are only part of it. Managing partners and practice group leaders often need a stronger portrait for an announcement, a speaking engagement, a bar association program or a feature in a legal publication. Rob can photograph those environmental executive portraits in your library, lobby or a corner office during the same visit.

Firms that want group photos of a practice team, or candid images of attorneys working with clients for the website, can add those as well. Everything is scheduled in one visit and billed on one invoice. Firms with a large roster of attorneys and staff usually book it as an on-site team headshot day.

Lawyer headshots that still look like the lawyer

Clients meet their attorney in person eventually, so the photo should be honest. Retouching is included and kept natural: stray hairs, blemishes and tired eyes are cleaned up, but nobody comes back looking ten years younger. Each attorney reviews their images and chooses a favorite, and the final files are the firm’s to use on the website, LinkedIn, directories and print.

Most firms choose a dark suit or jacket with a solid or subtly textured shirt. Avoid busy patterns and bright white shirts worn on their own. Our guide on what to wear for a corporate headshot covers it in detail and can be forwarded to your attorneys.

Not long. The setup stays in place for the session, so attorneys can come in between calls and meetings.
